Inflation, rates, FX, reserves, debt, fiscal balance, GDP growth, investment and FDI.
GDP growth, FDI, government debt/revenue/expenditure, current account and trade balance are live from the World Bank and UN Comtrade (IMF as fallback for debt). Fiscal balance and real interest rate are derived, not fetched — revenue minus expenditure, and policy rate minus inflation, respectively — and degrade whenever either input is stale. Policy rate (the midpoint of CBE's overnight deposit/lending corridor), both treasury yields, foreign reserves, inflation (a year-over-year change derived from CBE's republished CAPMAS Urban CPI), domestic debt, outstanding Treasury Bills and external debt all come from CBE's own published Excel exports via a manual ingestion workflow (CBE's site itself blocks automated requests — see the Sources page); they read as unavailable until that workflow has been run at least once for each series. A few of those carry real caveats, not just a freshness badge: domestic debt's currently ingested export stops in mid-2020, so it shows as very stale rather than current until a newer export is ingested; outstanding Treasury Bills is a component of domestic debt (T-bills only — domestic debt also includes T-bonds, NIB financing and more), not a restatement of the same figure, even though it is currently much fresher (Sept. 2025); and external debt (USD-denominated, unlike the other three which are EGP) is the freshest of the four (Dec. 2025) but quarterly publication cadence still puts it past the freshness budget as of this writing, so it also shows as stale, just less so than domestic debt. Government debt can show a real but two-decade-old World Bank figure — that series has exactly one datapoint for Egypt, and IMF's datamapper API has been observed (2026-08-06) rejecting requests from Cloudflare's edge network in well under 100ms, consistent with its Akamai bot management blocking CDN IP ranges outright; see the comment atop lib/providers/imfSdmx.ts. FX rate uses the same Twelve Data USD/EGP evidence as Markets. Private investment stays honestly unavailable — no free or manual path exists yet for that field.
